This is the last blog before my TED Talk tomorrow and I do not want to say too much and give away my whole speech since most of it is already on here. I am excited to talk tomorrow but a little nervous because of the content. Is anyone else as nervous as I am? I hope to reach everyone on a different level and somehow tie this speech into our class. I think i have covered the pathos, logos, etc. If not I will find out soon enough. I have wrote the speech up a few times and changed a few things each time but I think I am ready. I can't believe our class is coming to an end it went by SO fast! The whole point of my TED Talk is to get people to speak out when things do not seem right. I know this may seem like a hard task to accomplish judging by all the reasons to not act out; but if people at least give it extra thought the next time they see something wrong, I would be happy with that little progress. Okay I have said enough see you all tomorrow.

I'm in exactly the same boat. I can't believe our class is over and our Ted Talks are today. its insane. And I'm just as nervous as you are. I can't wait until the moment when we're finished. My speech is kinda like yours too. We're both trying to get people to do really big tasks, speak out or get happy. But I'm sure any difference we make, even if its just for a minute, will be worth it. Can't wait to hear your speech. Good Luck
ReplyDeleteI totally agree that it is very difficult for people to speak up when there is something they see wrong, mostly out of fear or retaliation of the perpitrators involved. Your talks were very informative and I will always think of them when I see something wrong and act upon them accordingly. I have a big mouth anyway so it's kinda easy for me to speak up when things are not as they should be. It's a blessing and a curse at the same time, but hey, someone's got to be the devil's advocate sometimes, might as well be me! Anyway, nice job!
ReplyDeleteWow! I just watched the two previous clips. They were very disturbing! I am looking forward to your speech and I don't know how we can fix this problem. Is there something missing in our upbringing or our value system. The human race is in a very sad condition right now. I don't know if we can be fixed.

ReplyDeleteWell...very good job on your talk! I was very affected by the story in the beginning and all of the very sad stuff after that. It is unbelievable what us humans are capable of and we just have to be cautious every day. It is really scary once you have children to worry about as well. Stay safe!
